best wishes
(from the official forum)
posted by martin Dear All,
Justy a swift message to wish you the best for the holidays and 2005. It hasn't been the best year ever for the Stereolab forum but there has been some quality playground bitchiness of late that had me raise a smile. Good clean fighting next year please; no punching below the belt - e-mailing employers or posting personal details. If you don't like a post then ignore it, if something needs deleting then I'll do it. I plan to keep a closer eye on the forum next year.
There should be some high quality disks out next year - Monade, Stereolab boxset and two or three EPs/singles, Broadcast LP and some new IEP.
Cheerio,
Martin

We've spread the tracks over 3 CDs now plus there'll be the DVD so it's going to be quite a substantial package - especially for the lucky ones who get the 8 stickers.
The Monade LP - 'A few steps more' should be out mid March 2005 with dates to follow.

New CD/DVD info
posted by martin Dear All,
For some reason my message posting of a few weeks ago announcing the cancellation of our Australian dates didn't make it onto the news section, must be something to do with my dodgy typing skills! The dates were cancelled due to the plug being pulled on the Brisbane Funhouse festival and therefore our other Australian dates became impossible to play due to our reduced income. I'm hoping that we'll be able to reschedule at some point.

Warner Begins Slashing Roster, Stereolab Get Cut
posted by koly It was the file-sharing again then, yes?
from Pitchfork Media:
Cory D. Byrom reports:
Various Warner Bros. recording artists are huddling together, making small talk, and nervously biting their nails as the label, which recently let go more than 1,000 employees, has begun announcing which bands are to be cut from their roster. Many of the bands that will be released are those who existed on the east-coast-based Atlantic and Elektra labels, which are being consolidated as a part of a massive reorganization at Warner Bros. The reorganization comes as a result of a private group of investors, including former Universal mogul Edgar Bronfman, Jr., purchasing the label from Time Warner back in February. Several bands have already been let go, and it is estimated that nearly half of the 170-act roster will be given pink slips and be sent on their way.
