best wishes

Dear All,
Justy a swift message to wish you the best for the holidays and 2005. It hasn't been the best year ever for the Stereolab forum but there has been some quality playground bitchiness of late that had me raise a smile. Good clean fighting next year please; no punching below the belt - e-mailing employers or posting personal details. If you don't like a post then ignore it, if something needs deleting then I'll do it. I plan to keep a closer eye on the forum next year.

There should be some high quality disks out next year - Monade, Stereolab boxset and two or three EPs/singles, Broadcast LP and some new IEP.
Cheerio,
Martin

New Song/Remix

It's true. Stereolab were asked to remix the Godzilla theme tune for the last ever Godzilla movie. We delivered track a few weeks ago and only heard from them over the weekend that it was going to be used.

DVD Release date

The release date is going to be around April 2005.
We've spread the tracks over 3 CDs now plus there'll be the DVD so it's going to be quite a substantial package - especially for the lucky ones who get the 8 stickers.

The Monade LP - 'A few steps more' should be out mid March 2005 with dates to follow.

Groop news update

Dear All,
Details of the next Stereolab release can be found in the 'news' section.

Tim is starting to write demos for the next disks, possibly a couple of EPs? These will be out sometime next year and then work will start on the next LP.

Monade's LP has been completed and should be out in early March 2005, along with the possibility of some live shows.

Martin

New CD/DVD info

Dear All,
For some reason my message posting of a few weeks ago announcing the cancellation of our Australian dates didn't make it onto the news section, must be something to do with my dodgy typing skills! The dates were cancelled due to the plug being pulled on the Brisbane Funhouse festival and therefore our other Australian dates became impossible to play due to our reduced income. I'm hoping that we'll be able to reschedule at some point.

another article on the cut

It was the file-sharing again then, yes?

from Pitchfork Media:
Cory D. Byrom reports:
Various Warner Bros. recording artists are huddling together, making small talk, and nervously biting their nails as the label, which recently let go more than 1,000 employees, has begun announcing which bands are to be cut from their roster. Many of the bands that will be released are those who existed on the east-coast-based Atlantic and Elektra labels, which are being consolidated as a part of a massive reorganization at Warner Bros. The reorganization comes as a result of a private group of investors, including former Universal mogul Edgar Bronfman, Jr., purchasing the label from Time Warner back in February. Several bands have already been let go, and it is estimated that nearly half of the 170-act roster will be given pink slips and be sent on their way.

3" Tour CD - the Truth

Dear All,
I think that Mono Valley or Kazak or someone asked about the tour CD tracklisting a few weeks ago. The correct listing is on the CD label and the incorrect one is on the sleeve.

I can assure you all that the limited 7" [which will certainly be ready at the end of June] will have the correct running order.

News of a Reading warm up show will be posted next week.

Will keep you all posted.

Dear All,
Having recently announced the additional New York shows, I'm afraid that I must now announce the cancellation of the date on April 15th. It's purely down to poor ticket sales.
