Review Of Salana Beach Show

Just watch the Salana Beach show last night. My first time witnessing the band live. Why these guys aren't playing Carnegie hall with full brass support and strings is beyond me. They are way beyond the small venue din of beer and conversations. Perhaps in a few years. Granted the opp to stand 20 ft from stage and evaluate the show can't be beat. What I find most EXCITING about the band right now is their growth as mature song and "hook" writers. They are surpassing their hypontic drones of the past and finally digging down into some solid pop crafting, albeit uniquely their very own. Bravo! The show revealled a rawer interpretation of their LP material of late, but then so do most performances of exceptionaly well recorded bands. As always, they strike you as a sincere band, REAL musicians with chops and comprehension of the past;while simultaneously crafting a whole new music unhead of yet. The Free Design meets Cluster meets Electric Miles and on and on......
The show was more or less what I've been reading about on other sites, and the band had loads of energy and purpose. These guys are just begining to blossom despite the set back of the loss of Mary H.
