Thanks for the Levi's tip -- I followed the trail to find that it *might* be a now-classic commercial ("How are things in YOUR town?") featuring the voice of Word Jazz pioneer Ken Nordine.

NCSU might have a clip of the commercial in its "People of the Pavement Film Library" (http://www4.ncsu.edu:8030/~kacollin/filmlist.html) under "TV Ads: Our Mini-Myths" -- a reference is made to 'Levi's psychedelic pants'. Without visuals, though, I can't make a firm confirmation!

: Hi,
: The first one is Meshes of the Afternoon by Maya Deren.
: The second one I think was an old Levi's commercial...

: : Looking for some help tracking down the directors / writers of a couple of the clips screened on the backdrop during the band's recent tour:

: : 1. The black and white film featuring the woman, the key, the knife, Death, etc...

: : 2. The animated 'swaggering messiah' who gives funky threads to the b&w masses.

: : Any help would be greatfully appreciated,
